Why this matters
Shopify tracks who bought what, how much they spent, and how you tagged them. Relay customer and order events through an automation tool into ReachOut's project API and build segments for post-purchase, reorder and win-back campaigns from real purchase data.
What you get
- Uses the Shopify triggers already available in Zapier, n8n and Make — no Shopify app development.
- Customer email identifies the contact; total spent and last order date become custom fields.
- A "VIP" tag in Shopify can become a custom field you segment on.
- Ask your AI agent to draft a campaign for a segment through MCP.
Setup in 4 steps
- Add custom fields.Studio → Contacts → Schema. Create fields such as total_spent, last_order_at and shopify_tags.
- Pick a Shopify trigger. In Zapier, n8n or Make, start from a Shopify event such as a new customer or a paid order.
- Upsert the contact. In Zapier, n8n or Make, POST /api/projects/YOUR_PROJECT_ID/contacts/search to find the contact by email. PATCH /api/projects/YOUR_PROJECT_ID/contacts/:contactId with the new customFields when it exists; otherwise POST /api/projects/YOUR_PROJECT_ID/contacts.
- Segment and send.Studio → Segments: for example last_order_at older than 90 days. Studio → Campaigns: send or schedule a win-back campaign to that segment.
